Oysters live in the mangrove forest's roots, as well as crabs, and they are a big part of the local's food. White paint is made of the oyster's shells for houses, and by the lodge there was a small factory. |

Laminlodge
Lamin Lodge is a three-story wooden construction on stilts, overlooking the mangroves of the river Gambia. It's not far away from the coast and was fun place to see.
As we arrived there were carvers decorating the inside wooden supports on the third floor, with hammers and chisels they carved statues there.
Lamin Lodge is a restaurant, and it also has an entertainment by local musicians and dancers. Many kind of boat and bird excursions are made from the place too.
