Tendaba word means wild boad (villisika), and meals were made of that meat and also the fish was prepared. Meals were basic swedish food as the owner was an old swedish man, and he used to check all dinners that everything was alright.

We had a visit to the local village, where we were introduced to the basic house and living, and then we got around a huge tree and did some music and dancing together.

       Tendaba Camp

Tendaba Camp is located about 150 kilometres away from the coast up the river Gambia, and a trip there by bus was an experience. Dustroads are beautifully red and very bumpy.

Guests stay in bungalows, either roundhouses or linehouses. Our room was basic with two beds and a shower, the beds having the mosquitonets, as in the evening, there were lots of them.

There's a small swimming pool in the centrum, were we took some lazy time between excursions and meals.
All over the camp area were statues, made of black wood by locals, and depicting  animals and people in their chores.

Next day we went to riversafari of a Bao Bolong wetlandreserve by boat. There's a forest of mangroves over the swamp areas with hundreds species of birds, crocodiles, lisards, monkeys and so on..

At the evening we had party around the camp fire, local young people sang and danced asking us to join them. Some did.

The trip was three days long with two days at the camp, and was organised by our travel agency with scandinavian tourists.
